Neil began his career in IT as a software developer with Olivetti in Edinburgh in 1976. In 1982 he set up the company that became MultiSoft – later acquired by Sage. Following that venture, he set up the company that became ResSoft and was responsible for the design and implementation of systems such as FirmControl (PMS for Linklaters), FirmWare (PMS for Freshfields) and Panaseea (DMS for Slaughter and May).
In February 2005, following the acquisition of ResSoft, he became Tikit’s Professional Services Director. In July 2008 he started working with Thomas Eggar LLP – a top-100 law firm – as Head of IT (and from 2012 as Group Head of IT Strategy) also having a stint as Interim Prof Servs Director at Lexis Nexis (InterAction) and Head of Unified Business Systems for Integreon. In 2010, together with a group of seasoned legal IT pros, he set up Athenian IT Developments Ltd. of which he’s MD. In January 2013 he started contracting with Lexis Nexis (Enterprise Solutions) and spent nearly three years as their Director of Products. These days, he concentrates on his work with Athenian.
